Jab Fest Review – 19th May 2012

With Tallpree, Freestyle King and 4 Brass this was another great event from X5 Promotions.

This has definitely been the year for international soca artistes to grace us with their presence. I would love to see more events like this with performances from UK soca artistes as well.

Jab Fest lived up to its name. There was a lot of ‘jabbing’ going on.

Earlier this week there was a debate on where Jab Jab was originated. I personally don’t care. It is perfect ‘dark side’ to soca. An excuse to do the things which you may ordinarily not do 😉

The Venue: Tudor Rose. Famous for soca events.

The Vibe: Very ‘Jabbie’

The Crowd: A strong Grenadian turn out (which was to be expected). They came out in their numbers to represent the artistes and the artistes did not disappoint.

The Show: The performance from all the artistes was very energetic and entertaining, well worth the entry fee, even I fell off the stage (literally – lol).

All-in-all: Another good night for soca music and the UK soca scene.
