Rotterdam Zomercarnaval 2014

Rotterdam Zomercarnaval 2014

It’s been 2 years since we last visited Rotterdam for carnival and it must be said that it has got even better. What was already an organised event is now even more so, regardless of the fact that the bands have all grown in numbers. This year Zomercarnaval celebrated its 30th year.

We spent most of the day with Trini Connection. Their band was full of vibrant costumes, beautiful people and a contagious vibe that caught the attention of onlookers throughout the day. With temperatures in the early to mid 30’s, it was a hot, humid and sticky day. Trini Connection made sure their band members were well looked after with drinks all day long. A list of DJ’s kept the revellers pumpin along the route and there were even special appearances from Farmer Nappy and Machel Montano.

In conclusion, Rotterdam Zomercarnaval has been the safest, most organised carnivals to date. A special congratulations to Kwame Cruden and Joyce Warner on what they’ve achieved with Trini Connection.
