Garvin Nicholas: Thank You, Appreciation and Goodbye Reception

Garvin Nicholas: Thank You, Appreciation and Goodbye Reception

In honor of his Excellency Garvin Nicholas as he departs as the High Commissioner of Trinidad and Tobago in England a ‘Goodbye’ event was put on.

There were live performances, great speeches, lovely food and drink and an amazing atmosphere. We arrived late so unfortunately we missed most of it (due to getting Triniboi Joocie to the venue). However when we did arrive Ansel Wong was halfway through his speech. From his words it quickly became obvious just how much Garvin Nicholas meant/means to the Trinidad and Tobago diaspora and wider Caribbean diaspora here in the UK.

Garvin had a very productive term as the High Commissioner which saw him win the Diplomat of the year from the Americas award. He will be sorely missed, yet cherished forever. The next High Commissioner has big shoes to fill.

As we got Triniboi Joocie there just in time he preformed his hit track ‘Beautiful’ which moved the crowed. Again apologies we didn’t manage to capture the other performers.

Take a look at the pictures and feel free to leave a comment.

Here is the official press release on the event.
