Soca Frenzy: Girls Gone Wild

Soca Frenzy: Girls Gone Wild

Girls Gone Wild was an absolutely ram jam affair.

The sea of blue and yellow flags and rags you would have thought you was at Crop over 2014.

The vibe inside was immense, some of the finest dj’s providing a range of music old school and new school soca, bashment and more.

Before the main act, we were blessed with some mouth watering, eye popping Notting Hill Carnival costumes presented by XTreme UK Mas Band.

Personally this year I have to say, costume designers throughout the different the mas bands, have really put their work in,as the standards has definitely risen this year in terms of creativity and range well done to all. XTreme UK Mas Band launch really energised the crowd ready for the main act.

Lil Rick, Barbadian born, known for his catchy lyrics with a catalog of tunes from “Go Down” to “I Like Myself”. Lil Rick had the crowd singing and bubbling along with his upbeat tempo and his energetic stage presence.

Lil Rick entertained the crowd pleasurably with his witty banter, dance moves and his “which one of these girls, wukking up the best challenge”. He was very interactive and as an artist, I would declare him as a natural performer, he had the crowd captured throughout, at one point in VIP area all you could see was bodies pressed against the glass, trying to capture a view or a glimpse of the frolics on stage.

The vibe inside Scala was crazy, the general trend from party goers, was that the venue was to packed so it was rather uncomfortable at times but overall it was another great and successful Soca Frenzy night.
