UK Soca Scene Fete Guide: 29th – 30th Nov 2013

UK Soca Scene Fete Guide: 29th – 30th Nov 2013

This is what UKSS did last week..

Gem of the Caribbean Sea – Saturday 23rd November 2013

Gem of the Caribbean Sea was a boat party to celebrate 47 years of Barbados’ Independence. Presented by Backyard Promotions this yearly event wasn’t as well attended as the previous year. However this didn’t stop the vibes from flowing.

Shep Beats and DJ Bajie played great sets with a mixture of present day and back in times soca. It was also good to hear some of the less heard Bajan soca songs (these should really be played more).

The crowd got into the spirit of the event and most had a great time. I hope next year when we’re celebrating 48 years of Independence more people will be in attendance and not only Bajan’s. We should all support each other.
