Soca Frenzy: Revealing In Red Valentines Mas

Soca Frenzy’s Revelling in Red Valentine’s Mas, one of the biggest fete’s to mark 2015 so far and trust me there’s plenty big fetes/events lined up for this year.

This was a celebration of pride and unity (Grenada and St. Lucia’s Independence). The venue was ram as per usual, the  miserable weather was not deterring anyone. The vibes inside was infectious, flags and rags were in abundance. The resident Dj’s had the crowd just were they wanted them in preparation for the acts.

Sergie, St Lucian born known for her versatility with a collection of big tunes from “Ah Drunk” to “Woman of Di House”. Sergie opened the stage with her ‘driver’ challenge enabling a volunteer to go on stage and show there ability (which he sure did) this kept the crowd enticed and ready for more.

Ricky T, St Lucian born, known for his sing along flows with big tunes such as “Pressure”, “Container” and many more. Ricky T engaged the crowd and got the energy levels high, I actually forgot tunes that Ricky T has done so it was a nice refresher for myself.

Lavaman, Grenadian born, known for his mass of energy and unorthodox hair style, with a catalogue of tunes from “Tek Jab” to “Gutter” plus many, many more. Lavaman filled the room with vibes his high energy levels were consistent throughout his performance, which kept the crowd on a mad high, dropping tune after tune, having everyone begging for more.

The overall entertainment level was to a high standard, the crowd interacted well waving and pumping flags and rags, and even participating in some on stage frolics.

Overall I believe the night was a success. The line up was fitting for the occasion celebrating both St.Lucia and Grenada’s Independence on Valentines day.
