Release D Riddim: Red Eye – Easter Edition

The first Red Eye of the year, but the last to be held at colosseum. It was definitely a night of mixed emotions for everyone joy and an element of sadness.

Despite the weather, the party goers, flocked in numbers (I can’t recall a Red Eye queue being that long in ages). Old and new faces all out to celebrate and cherish that last Colosseum experience.

As I entered the building, I was gripped with the euphoric vibes and banging tunes, each and every DJ played top sets, ranging from new school and old school soca with a touch of Afro beats.

The crowd was wild, energetic and bad, bad, bad, some individuals who shall not be named, lets just say ‘they were on their worst behaviour’, definitely not for the faint hearted or those of a nervous disposition but not to worry this fete was:

  1. way over due
  2. emotions were high

Individuals like myself would have had many emotional/personal connections and experiences at Colosseum.

Overall the event was mad, the vibes and energy you couldn’t ask for more. It was the ideal way to launch Red Eye 2014 as well as a final goodbye to the Colosseum which has housed Red Eye for the last few years, beginning of a new chapter, end of an Era.

A legendary night to remember and we look forward to the next Red Eye as we embark on a new exciting chapter.
